The Right Tools for Lasting Beauty

Simple Care for a Lasting Shine

When I create a sculpture, I choose materials with the same intention as the form itself—strength, longevity, and quiet sophistication.

That is why I work with 304 and 316 stainless steel. These premium grades are renowned for their resistance to rust and corrosion, allowing my sculptures to exist confidently in both indoor and outdoor environments while maintaining their refined finish over time.Stainless steel offers a unique balance of durability and elegance.

Its surface captures light beautifully, enhancing the sculptural lines and presence of each piece. With minimal care, it will continue to reflect the quality and craftsmanship invested in it.

Preserving Your Memorial Sculpture

Routine care is wonderfully simple. A gentle dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth is usually all that’s required to remove dust or cobwebs without disturbing the surface.

Polished stainless steel may occasionally show fingerprints or light smudges. A mild dish soap mixed with warm water is all that’s needed. Apply the solution to a cloth—never directly onto the sculpture—wipe gently, then dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth to restore its natural brilliance.

In rare cases, you may notice a stubborn water mark or mineral stain. If this occurs, I recommend using a high-quality metal polishing cream such as Autosol. Apply sparingly with a soft cloth, working gently with the grain of the finish, then buff lightly to restore the surface’s original lustre.

A Lasting Finish for a Lasting Memory.

painted Sculptures

While all of my sculptures are crafted from stainless steel, a small number of my smaller and more delicate works incorporate painted elements as part of their artistic expression. These pieces are best suited to indoor display.

Although the stainless steel itself is highly durable, prolonged exposure to outdoor conditions may gradually affect the depth and vibrancy of the painted finish. To preserve the intended appearance and fine detail of these works, I recommend displaying them within an interior setting.

For cleaning painted areas, use a soft, dry cloth only. Avoid water, solvents, or cleaning products, as these may damage the painted surface. Gentle, regular dusting will help maintain the finish and ensure the piece continues to be presented as intended.

What I Recommend Avoiding

Abrasive Cleaners
Avoid scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive products, as these can scratch the surface and diminish the finish.

Harsh Chemicals
Strong chemicals such as bleach or ammonia should never be used, as they can damage the steel and leave permanent marks.

Salt and Mineral Residue
For sculptures placed near coastal areas or exposed to hard water, an occasional rinse with clean water will help prevent salt or mineral buildup.

With thoughtful, minimal care, your sculpture will continue to age gracefully, retaining both its structural integrity and refined presence. Each piece is designed not only to be seen, but to endure, an investment in art meant to be enjoyed for generations.
